The Sounds of HO

King of the Dinosaurs Meets
Kings of the Meteors Here's where you'll hear Home Office at our very best. Because of server space limitations we're not going to put up massive numbers of mp3's on this page: but we are going to give you a happy taste of each of our artists. If you like what you hear, head on over to the main page for that band for news, information, upcoming shows and direct links to more mp3's off-site -- or you can click on the album covers below to head directly to our pages on mp3.com. We hope you'll share our mp3's with the Napster community and with the whole grand world -- and please take a moment while the sounds are downloading to read a bit about our happening and hardworking indie artists. The raging dinosaur at right belongs, of course, to our newest release, Natural Selection by The Dan Emery Mystery Band. Early responses to this brash and gleeful CD are coming in with thumbs up, kind of like in Gladiator but with Dan instead of Russell Crowe ... download an mp3 of The Only One Who Loves You (Natural Mix) to roar along!

That's Sophie. Isn't she cute? Tzatziki! Kowabunga! Timbuktu!

Read about Pawnshop | Read about The Cucumbers

The debut Pawnshop CD inspired Sound Views to jubilate. "First things first," they said, "this is a great sounding record." Check out our Pawnshop sounds in RealAudio, with links to mp3's on other sites ... or snatch up this one, Don't Dig, right here. Pawnshop gets both harder and softer than this, so you're starting in the middle. And The Cucumbers' new release has the Village VOICE admiring their "fertile garden of smart psych-pop." Find out why with Cucumbers audio links, or carpe that diem with the bouncy and legal song Illegal.

I can see! I can see! Holy Moly! We know you won't buy it, but
this is a damn fine album

Read about RAW Kinder | Read about Burner

RAW Kinder has been silent for far too long, but their stark and powerful debut CD had Sound Views praising their "roaming, where-is-this-taking-us musical adventure." What's all the fuss about? Find out for yourself with a small dreamy .wav snippet of Dreamin', or wade right in with a full-length mp3 of the pensive and moody womansong Become. Our 1997 Burner compilation, featuring five East Village bands and artists and a grand sweep of music from alternative to postmodern to jazz, is a sprawling CD of many moods and forms. We have several sound clips from this first outing by HO recording artists RAW Kinder and Pawnshop, as well as guest artists and friends bluecowboys, Rob Schwimmer and Mark Stewart, available for your curious listening (in .wav format -- sounds better anyway. No mp3's from this one).

And, of course, Restez Tuned for ever more samples from our artists and HO friends. Mr. Cyrano's got this sound card thing pretty figured out. Now which end of this cable does... * ZOT *

Hip, Hip! Warning! You are leaving a Sound Zone! Hooray!

We mean it.
If an mp3 downloads on the Web, and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? And how many holes are there in Blackburn, Lancashire? And ... what about Naomi?
